Landscape master - Mikhail Markianovich Hermashev.
He was born into the family of a small Russian official. He studied (1892 - 1899) at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under A. E. Arkhipov, V. A. Serova, I. I. Levitana. Participated in student exhibitions. Since 1890s. a member of the group of Moscow artists «Wednesday», at the exhibition of which in 1911 he exhibited several works.
Since 1894, he participated in exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, the Moscow Association of Artists, the Association of Travelling Art Exhibitions. The picture «Snow Fell» received in 1897 the first prize of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, it was bought for his gallery by P. M. Tretyakov.
He lived in Moscow. Made trips to Russia, Western Europe. In the early years of the Soviet regime participated in a number of art exhibitions. In the 1920s. settled in Paris, where he wrote by contract Russian landscapes popular with the French public. His paintings were willingly bought. He exhibited at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts, in the gallery of L. Gerard et al.
