More information
Árpád - Founder of Hungary.
Árpád (c. 845 - 907) was the leader of the Hungarian tribes during the conquest of the Carpathian Basin, which led to the establishment of the Hungarian state. He was the head of the Árpád dynasty, which ruled Hungary for several centuries.
Under Árpád's leadership, the Hungarian tribes migrated from the Eurasian Steppe to the Carpathian Basin. They engaged in battles with various regional powers and eventually settled in the territory that is now Hungary. Árpád and his people established a confederation of tribes and laid the foundation for the Kingdom of Hungary.
Árpád's leadership and the subsequent reigns of his descendants, known as the Árpád dynasty, were instrumental in shaping the early political, social, and cultural development of Hungary. The Árpád dynasty ruled Hungary from the late 9th century until the end of the 14th century.
It's worth noting that Árpád himself did not hold the title of king or head of a confederation during his lifetime. However, his role as the leader of the Hungarian tribes and his descendants' subsequent rule played a crucial role in the establishment and early governance of the Hungarian state.
