“Raclawice Panorama”.

The history of the birth of the Transylvanian Panorama, painted under the leadership of Wojciech Kossak and Jan Styka, the “Raclawice Panorama”, which was presented to the Hungarian audience in Budapest in 1896.

Due to the great success of the painting, the Hungarian government in 1898 commemorated the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Hungary he ordered a circular painting by painter Jan Styka.

The 15-meter-wide and 120-meter-wide circle was painted under the leadership of Jan Styka, with the help of Hungarian artists such as Pál Vágó, the excellent painter of battle scenes - Béla Spányi, the renowned landscape painter and Tihamér Margitay. The hospital took five months of work. The central theme of the Bem-Petofi picture is 1849.

On 11 March, the Battle of Sibiu, where the Hungarian Army, under the command of Polish General Joseph Bem, won the victory over the united Austrian and Russian forces.
