Arkady Tyurin: Main artist of animation film Lefty.
Arkady Tyurin was born on October 16, 1932. He graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts of the Moscow State University named after V. I. Lenin. He studied in the workshop of Ivan Ivanov-Vano animation department of the art faculty of VGIK in 1957 - 1962.
In the late 1950s, he began work on the topic «Lefty» according to the tale of Nikolay Leskov that became his thesis. The sketches were shown at his solo exhibition at the Palace of Culture of Novothul Metallurgical Plant in 1962.
He was a book artist, he designed more than 40 editions, including - Poems by Nikolai Nekrasov, Levs Nikolay Leskov in 1967, 1973, 1981, 1994, selected works by Nikolay Gogol, Tales about Italy by Maxim Gorky, 300 Russian proverbs and proverbs, Russian fairy tales, Domostroy and other books. The gift edition «Ilya Muromets» was nominated for the USSR State Prize, as well as the edition of Lefty in 1973. The peculiarity of the 1981 edition of Lefty by «Soviet Russia» is that it uses animation techniques in book graphics.
