Malchin is a tribal entity in an administrative and territorial unit in the western part of Mongolia. The area of Malchin is 4 thousand km². The population of soum is sharply decreasing and is 2,349 people in 2010. On territory of Malchin there are ethnic groups such as: Derbets, Bayats, Kholons.
Tsalgar village is located 1,300 km from Ulaanbaatar, 102 km from the central city of Ulaangom. In Malchin have is a school, a hospital, cultural and shopping centers.
The climate is sharply continental, cold steppe climate. Annual precipitation 300 mm, in valleys 60 - 100 mm.
